Colossians
In the Book of Colossians, Paul is writing to encourage his readers to keep their eyes and focus on Jesus!
The Colossian believers were at risk of becoming captive to hollow and deceptive teachings, that exalted traditions and philosophies over the truth of the Gospel!
Over-emphasis on diets, religious festivals, the Sabbath, and the worship of angels were all being pressed upon the Colossians so that their allegiance would be to man and not to Christ!
So Paul interrupts this persuasion by telling them to be steadfast in the Hope of Christ, to keep their hearts and minds set on things above, and to continue in Christ Jesus the same way they received Him— by Faith!
